Wittnauer

Wittnauer and Bulova are sister companies founded by immigrants to America in the late 1800's. Albert Wittnauer was Swiss, Joseph Bulova was Czech. They both manufactured their watches in Switzerland and imported them to their new homes in America. In 2001, the Bulova Corporation purchased the Wittnauer Watch Company. Wittnauer was the favorite watch of navigators, astronomers, geographers and explorers. Wittnauer had the first waterproof, shock-proof and anti-magnetic watch (which was called All-Proof).  It was this watch that helped Commander Richard E. Byrd navigate his flight over the North Pole
